When was your co-op established?

This a Cooperative was established on March 13, 1952, and we are proud to say the Founder’s grandfather, Pedro, was one of the founding members. But the history of olive farming in her family goes back even further, spanning centuries. It's a tradition that has been passed down from generation to generation, and we take great pride in continuing it today. This family has a deep connection to this land and its people, and we are committed to producing the highest quality olive oil while preserving the natural environment and supporting the local community.

Where is it located?

It is located in Andalucia, Spain in Sierra Mágina, a Natural Park that is part of the subbetic mountain range. Its north face is located on the depression of the Guadalquivir, while its south face connects with the Sierra de Lucena.

What makes your olive oil special?

First, it's made from the Picual variety of olives which are native to the region of Jaén and are known for their robust and intense flavor. Additionally, our olive oil is cold-pressed within hours of the olives being harvested, ensuring maximum freshness and flavor. We take great pride in our farming and production process, which prioritizes sustainability and traditional methods, resulting in a high-quality and truly authentic product.

Are you environmentally sustainable?

We are proud to produce a 100% environmentally sustainable Extra Virgin Olive Oil (AOVE) that is free from phytosanitary residues. We prioritize high quality and maximum food safety for consumers by focusing on good agricultural practices.

To certify the oil's sustainability, our olive farms undergo rigorous inspections by technicians from the Sierra Mágina Designation of Origin. They visit the olive groves where the olives are harvested to ensure no phytosanitary treatments have been applied. They examine the fruits and the soil around the olive trees, verifying the optimal maturity and health status required for the production of quality Extra Virgin Olive Oil.

Are you certified?

Denomination of Origin (DO) Sierra Mágina is a certification granted to olive oils produced in the Sierra Mágina region of the province of Jaén, Spain, which includes XODAR's olive oil. It ensures that the oil has met certain quality standards and has been produced using traditional methods within a specific geographical area. The DO guarantees the quality and authenticity of the olive oil and ensures that consumers are getting a product that is truly representative of the region.
